With over 15 years of investment banking experience, Evan Tomaskovic is an entrenched player in the fields of restructuring, financing, and mergers and acquisitions, bringing a unique blend of expertise to Carl Marks Advisors’ client base. Mr. Tomaskovic has advised both public and privately held companies across a wide range of constituents, including management teams, boards of directors, equity investors, and various creditor groups.
Mr. Tomaskovic is currently co-leader of the community banking vertical at Carl Marks Advisors and serves as CEO of the firm’s broker dealer operations. His experience has involved a variety of industries, including financial services, media, real estate, and transportation. Specifically, Mr. Tomaskovic is a known leader in the community banking space, with recent notable engagements involving American Bancorp, Rogers Bancshares, First Mariner, and North Texas. Other restructuring assignments have included NextMedia, Saint Vincent’s Medical Centers, and MacGregor Golf. In addition, he has executed multiple cross-border M&A engagements, including Logic Controls and Gould Paper.
Mr. Tomaskovic was cited in 2014 by Turnaround & Workouts as one of the “Top Ten People to Watch” and was recognized as among the top 30 restructuring investment bankers by the Global M&A Network.
Prior to joining Carl Marks a decade ago, Mr. Tomaskovic was a senior vice president at RBS Greenwich Capital, where he focused on corporate finance and advisory solutions. Previously, he worked in the financial institutions group at Lehman Brothers, most recently serving as vice president, focusing on M&A. Mr. Tomaskovic began his career at Meyercord Advisors Inc., a boutique turnaround advisory firm, where he assisted in the restructuring, purchase, and sale of several businesses.
He earned a BS in Finance from Rutgers University and an MBA in Finance from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business, where he graduated with honors. He is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative.
