The Interim Healthcare Consultant/Advisor must have significant healthcare expertise, be able to provide insights into emerging healthcare industry issues, participate in healthcare related engagements and develop new client opportunities. Engagements may include advising companies, investors and/or lenders on matters pertaining to out-of-court turnarounds, restructurings and bankruptcies, strategic planning, viability assessment, M&A, operations and process improvement initiatives, due diligence, etc.  The location of the engagements could vary and require significant travel. This is a freelance opportunity, not a full-time position.


  • Provide on-site leadership, guidance and healthcare expertise throughout engagements
    • Manage client relationships to achieve client satisfaction
    • Conduct on-site due diligence and develop business plans
    • Lead engagement team to develop high-quality deliverables and client presentations
    • Manage CMA engagement teams to review/refine work product prior to finalization
    • Provide strategic guidance to clients, potential investors, attorneys and others, as required
    • Proactively identify issues and risks to promptly mitigate and/or resolve
  • Participate in business development, including marketing events and new business pitch opportunities
  • Nurture follow-on projects with existing clients


  • 15+ years in the healthcare industry, in progressively more senior leadership positions
  • Experience leading companies through turnarounds or distressed situations
  • Proven capability to identify current and emerging industry issues/trends, apply them to current client needs and to drive new business opportunities
  • Strong operational experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Revenue Cycle – including billing / reimbursement processes
    • Provider Side – e.g., hospitals, outpatient facilities, assisted living, post-acute care facilities
    • Suppliers / Manufacturers – e.g., device manufacturing
    • Pharmaceutical / Biotech Companies
    • Service Companies – e.g., testing labs
  • Refined core consulting skills (presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills) to successfully interact with bankers, advisors, clients and other team members
  • Demonstrated ability to succinctly summarize and communicate ideas clearly and effectively
  • Best-in-class customer service orientation
  • Adept in managing multiple competing priorities in a lean team, results-based, interactive environment
  • Comfortable in challenging and turbulent client situations
  • Proven exemplary work ethic
  • Related experience with a healthcare provider or healthcare consulting firm is huge plus
  • Flexibility to work on a freelance basis
  • BA/BS in healthcare-related field
